The Master of Arts Program in Cognitive Science aims at introducing the students to the investigation of cognitive processes at various dimensions. It is offered by the cooperation of the Computer Engineering, Linguistics, Philosophy and Psychology disciplines.
To fulfill the requirements of the MA program, students must complete a total of 28 credits of course work and submit a thesis supervised by their academic advisor. The coursework of the first semester consists of the 'core' courses of the four disciplines. In the second semester, students are expected to take area and complementary electives, allowing them to specialize in one (maximum two) disciplines. In the second year, students are expected to write a thesis in the area they have specialized in.
Each discipline has an advisor who supervises the coursework of the students who want to specialize in that field.
Each student is expected to take remedial courses the first year s/he is accepted into the program. This is to ensure a uniform background for the students. The advisor determines the nature of the remedial courses each student is expected to take. A student may have to take up to 8 courses during the remedial year.
